MS SQL database maximum size

I wanted to know what is the maximum size for a MS SQL 2008 database. I understand I can purchase more space, but I want to know what is the limit. Thanks

You get 500mb and you can purchase more space, but we don't have a limit on how much space can be purchased. We'd have to see the server you're on, and how the usage is.

 

Well, we do have a soft limit. You won't be able to buy several gigs of database space. But then, you wouldn't want to, as the monthly add-on price would become prohibitive, and not many people have sites that require that much db space anyway.
