RichDatePicker clears itself on asp:button POST

I have an aspx page where I'm demoing the RichDatePicker. On the same page, I have an asp:button that posts back to the server OnClick. Each time I click the asp:button, the resulting postback causes the RickDatePicker to clear itself. What's going on here?
