  1. The login control doesn't work and there is no error. It stop working when I added some code to allow roles to web.config. I have taken that part out of the code and use the web.config file that works locally and as far as I know worked on production. I've double checked and doubled check connection string and links. Is there anything here that sticks out to anyone?

    Code:

  2. ...Have you tried putting the DB server conn strings back in the web.config?
The way you're doing it there may be a path issue. Just guessing.

  3. I went to the file (destination file on login control) web.config and deleted the authorization access rule (deny users="?"). I can now get past the Login screen and get to the destination file. Here, the Login Status control still shows "Login". And when I click on a link to direct me to another page, I gaet the following error. This all works perfect in Visual Web Developer. It worked great when I put it in production. I then wanted to add a rule for permissions and added some code in web.config. Reloaded the site and Logged In and OUCH! Then after many "corrections" I went back and loaded the original website that worked before. Ran the site, Logged in, clicked on a link to redirect to another page and got the following error....I'm thinkning I need to completely cancel the account and just start new...I'm not sure .....Please try to help.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
