Does anyone know how I can access a file on our webpage with the ip address instead of with the domain name? ie:

http://64.79.161.51/something/something/file.htm

You can use the temporary URL or you can get the Unlimited Subdomain Addon which includes a Unique IP. You can order this in the Addon Manager of your Control Panel.

I am a little bit confused as to how the temporary url gets me any closer to being able to access our page via IP Adress.

We use name based hosting. Therefore, you cannot access your account via an IP address. You can use the temporary URL instead.

If you want a unique IP address, then you would add the Unlimited Subdomain addon. You can add this via your Control Panel Addon manager.
