    i want to download and backup all my mail boxes including subfolders and contacts what is the best way?

    I'm afraid you can't download the mailboxes (even if you could download the files directly from the server, SmarterMail uses a proprietary format to store data, so you wouldn't be able to read them).

    To back up your mail you would have to run an email client on your local machine and set it up to fetch the mail from your boxes. There are a lot of messy synchronization issues that can crop up when you do that though.

    There is not really an easy way to backup mail.
