View Full Version : Apple vs. Microsoft

I had a little fun today, couldn't help myself:
So odd, the cult of Apple. I am loyal to some products, but not to the point where I come across like an ass (that just comes naturally). But so many Mac people seem to have a big chunk of their self-worth tied up in a piece of overpriced hardware. I'll never understand it.
Though I have to say I almost bought a Mac not long ago, just to run a certain piece of software (http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.php). But they are now developing a Windows version, so I didn't have to go down that road.

A long long time ago...Back in the 80's I went with the nec30 PC's running JDOS to do our Federally Mandated torque records on the Ford and Mazda vehicles at MANA.
(Mazda North America)
Microsoft was just starting up but dropped by.
Apple made an offer but we'd have to use everything that had nothing to support it.
We made the right decision going with Microsoft.
Heck I even got to beta test products like VB for DOS, which was very cool but never made it to the market.
Some years later I was developing Commerce sites like MedicalBuyer.com and DistributorOrder.com, sites where Doctors and Hospitals could buy/sell/trade.
One of the developers was using a MAC, the rest of us PCs.
Every single time any of us went by that guy he was sleeping.
I've said enough :-)
