hi, i am trying to create a new ASP NET website. First time doing anything with .net!
I select the new website option from the visual web developer 2010 express,
and then select asp.net empty website and I continually get the 'my asp.net' application code loaded!!!
How do I start with an empty project?

Are you aware of the major differences between a Web App and a Website in VS?
Many of us can help you but I'd first like to know if you want a Website in VS or if you need to create a local Web Application.

hi
No I am not aware of the difference between the two. I am new to dot net code. I have done quite a few classic asp websites with sql server databases. It does seem that the dot net process is very different!!!
I need to rewrite a classic asp website using sql server database to an asp.net project. I have gone through some of the web pages changing the code to asp.net and it seems reasonably straightforward.
I have three initial distinct pages, loads of pages that identical other than displaying different data (ideal for a master page) and a shopping cart process.
I would appreciate some advice on the best approach.
