Hi
I set up linked tables in several database files, but when I upload it to discountasp I get disk errors. Any ideas, is this something that only works on the machine you set it on?
Thanks

stp DB Administrator is a free download that you can install on DASP and use for online administration of your Access databases.
It has support for linked tables.
I find the interface just a bit querky, but it is a very solid product, easy to install and use. I've had good results with it on DASP for about a year -- ever since it was recommended by another DASP user (Steurm, I think).

How do you manage them though, do you just redo the db links after uploading the databases? I guess as the DBs are updated online will only have to redo the links if changing the DBs? Also, I cant find any info on it, but is it better as far as performance to use DB links, instead of opening a seperate connection to the other database?
I cant find that web site though, the link is down, also checked on google and their link is dead also?
Thanks

1) Once you install the administrator, you open the database that you want the linked tables to appear in, thrn select "Tables" from the top menu. At the bottom of the tables list is an "Add linked table" optioon. Select it and follow the prompts.
2) I just tried clickin the link to stp that appeared in my original post and it works.
3) As for performance, I have no idea whether linked tables produce a performance hit. You could test it both ways.
