It won't let me do that either which is odd because all the NTFS file permissions SEEM to be be there . . .

My (visual studio) is on my laptop
but the The Dataserver (web server) is on aseperate machine XP pro

I really need to be able to develop web apps from remote locations

to do File share what is involved? . . . Don't I just need to SHARE the folders in Question
or is there more to it?

Thanks
Sean

after some security adjustments I have determined that

1. I have NTFS share on the wwwroot folder
2. I have given IIS read write access on the folder

however , I do not have rights to create directories from a remote machine ??

Wooow... i have not seen this error before.

I suggest you do not use FrontPage extension for your local application because it's just a pain. Try use the filebase and see if it works.

We converted all our application in development to use file base.

Hmmm.. this is very bizzare.

VS.NET is known to do some weird stuff. I reinstalled the damn thing last time when I ran into some major problem.

I suggest you search for the error in Google Group. i am sure someone has seen this before.
