Hi,

I'd like to solve the same issue as described here
http://adminsgoodies.com/redirect-subdomain-xyz-com-to-subdomain-abc-com/

In other words I need
subdomain.xyz.com to point to subdomain.abc.com

I need this because I have a domain brougt at hostgator.com that points to an umbraco cms at DASP. However, the subdomain determines the landing page, as each subdomain represents a distinct cms.

can this be achieved within DASP?
best,
Johannes

Is the example subdomain "subdomain.abc.com" hosted here with discountasp.net?

If so then you should be able to create the subdomain: subdomain.xyz.com as a domain pointer on DASP.

You will need to add the add-on "Unlimited Subdomain Includes Unique IP" from the add-ons page in the control panel here: Control Panel Order Add-ons page (https://my.discountasp.net/addons/)

Then read our knowledge base article on how to How to redirect a subdomain to a subdirectory (http://support.discountasp.net/KB/a369/how-to-redirect-a-subdomain-to-a-subdirectory.aspx)

With the redirect you should be able to have "subdomain.xyz.com" redirect to another directory on your site.

If your domain name "subdomain.xyz.com" is using a third part DNS system. Then you need to make sure you update the A record on the third party DNS system.

Log in to the control panel. Click on "DNS Manager" on the left menu. Or simply Click here (https://my.discountasp.net/dns-manager.aspx)

Read the "Important Warning" message. Click on the "I Understand and Agree" Button.

Click on the Primary Domain. Then review the A record for the subdomain. The IP listed in our DNS is what you need to make on your third party DNS system.
