  1. I understand there is an ongoing issue with Trend Micro RBL+ since 4/10/12 (or before). I have submitted requests to Trend Micro on behalf of my customer and myself. I also understand the forums may not be the best place to discuss the matter however...

I submitted a support ticket yesterday regarding the issue. I did receive a reply that explained the Gateways are being blacklisted. I should have known that was the case vs the actual MX record. But, there was zero resolution and the reply was written in an English as second language style.

Email services are an integral component to most applications as I'm sure you're aware. When that component doesn't work and there seems to be a very slow and cavalier approach, it's very concerning.

  2. Trend Micro reply

    Hello,

This 64.79.170.150 was listed because we received spam coming from this IP address and because no action was taken when we reported this to your ISP. We still continue to see spam attempts from this IP address.

Please contact your ISP or mail administrator, and have them contact us for removal as we need those who have a direct access to the mail server to fix the problem. If you have further questions, you may contact them directly regarding the status of this IP address. Thanks again.

    Kind regards,
    Spam Investigations Team

  3. Trend Micro reply #2

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us about this IP address on RBL.

64.79.170.152 was listed because we received spam coming from this IP address and because no action was taken when we reported this to your ISP.

It may be a spam source, a spam support service, a multi-hop (multiple IP) open relay, or a compromised host.

Please contact your ISP or mail administrator, and have them contact us for removal as we need those who have a direct access to the netblock to fix the problem. Again, if you are end-users using a shared IP address you will need to contact your administrator and if you have further questions, you may contact them directly regarding the status of this IP address. Thank you.

    Kind regards,
    Franklynn Uy

  4. Wow!

    Nothing?

  5. Seriously?

This has been happening to people since the 10th, and still not fixed? DASP's suggestion is to bounce off our local ISP's SMTP? Do you realize how many places I'm gonna go have to change things? Web Apps, Mobiles, Desktops...seriously? Because somebody at DASP downloads a virus, I'm blacklisted? Seriously?

Might be time to change providers....Seriously.

  6. We have finally been taken off Trend Micro's Blacklist and we are also adding additional IP address to our outbound mail servers. We will monitor the RBL's closely to make sure we stay out of there blacklist.

  7. Really?

As of 4/26/2012 I was STILL getting my a$$ chewed for bouncing email to a Fortune 500 company.

As a side note; I noticed there was no problems with your auto renewal of my account this morning.
