  1. Hi All,
I am an asp.net newbie but experienced in IT. Since I just bought a site here I thought I'd ask this here first.

I have just finished my first personal (non-data-driven)site to go here. It was my 'learning curve'. I am now developing my company site and it will be data driven and look much improved over my first .net effort.

I'm wondering what tools other folks use for generating things like logos, buttons, lines etc. I'm new to this graphic design bit. I bought a package of web site designs and they are pretty good but I want to change some of the graphics etc.

I have access to things like visio, publisher etc and I also have a copy of arcsoft photostudio which seems to be able to edit anything........but I've been kind of wondering if folks here use anything specific/easy for developing gifs etc.

    Thanks

  3. Yep, using Photoshop as well. A nice alternative (read: free, under GNU license) is Gimp : http://www.gimp.org.

Keep in mind that if you not have the original files of the graphics, the quality of the graphics won't be as good as they are now. It is common use to have graphics in a higher resolution than the resulting files which are used in websites ...
