First let me say Hello :)

I am totally new to the DiscountASP.NET family and I have to say so far I am very happy.

I was looking into different options for a Message Board. I have the Community Starter Kit CS Version and wanted to know what Message board software you guy's have used and really like.

The layout of this forum is very nice :)

Thank you for the reply,

apparently, we like dotnetBB, the software that drives this forum

another popular alternative would be PHPBB

InstantASP's new InstantForum v4.0 is hands down the best asp.net based forum that I've worked with..

I would go with phpBB. First of all it's the most economical solution (it's free). Onlything I would need on this end is a MySQL add-on.

I haven't used it on my site yet since I only have a MS-SQL add-on, but the mySQL add-on is well worth it if a forum is going to be a vital part of your site. Many free open-source bulletin board packages utilize MySQL http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif

Peace.

Hi Mate,

Snitz forums work very well, minimal setup and totally customisable,

I'm using aspplayground.net and so far I'm very happy with the product and service. The price was very reasonable.

I used to use Snitz but I outgrew it...its great for smaller forums but as you grow the overhead and lack of uniform consistency in the programming may catch up to you.
