View Full Version : Anonymous Write Permissions Enabled?

How come the permissions manager shows that anonymous users are allowed Write permission on the root of the web (htdocs) by default? When I change the permission for Write from "Allow" to "Deny" and leave Read set to "Allow" I am prompted for a user name when I try to browse the site.

It seems disabling anonymous Write access also disables anonymous Read access, but what I am worried about most is that leaving the Write permissions set to "Allow" will give anonymous users the ability to upload/modify/etc files.
Is this something I should worry about or is it a beta glitch in the web form's display or something else that I am missing?

Thanks

I am looking for a response to this as well. Hopefully, this will be resolved before my first 30 days are up...

For regular web traffic on IIS, the setting for Anonymous user should be set to Read/Write.
