Hi,

I own and run www.thelouisianasportsman.com (http://www.thelouisianasportsman.com) which I run as backend database web pages for my my main site URL www.baitntackle.net (http://www.baitntackle.net)

My question to you is:
Can I rightfully and lawfully be the owner of www.thelouisianasportsman.com (http://www.thelouisianasportsman.com) while another company has their site as www.louisianasportsman.com (http://www.louisianasportsman.com)?

The owner of www.louisianasportsman.com (http://www.louisianasportsman.com) has contacted me and stated that I am unlawfully using www.thelouisianasportsman.com (http://www.thelouisianasportsman.com).

How can this be? I bought the URL and I am using it for my business. To think that if it would have caused an issue, then that Domain name would not have been for sale.

Am I correct?

Please let me know. My email is keith@baitntackle.net

Thanks,

Keith Plaisance

ICANN has a dispute policy that you may want to review. We have it posted at: http://www.discountasp.net/userpolicy_domain_dispute.aspx

We have seen companies withtrademarks on a name, sue and win over domain owners, if the domain and/or site will cause user confusion. You may want to consult an attorney.
