Recently my office began digging deep into DNN as an option for our web apps. I fell in love and decided to migrate my personal site. No problem I thought - I've done it at work already and it was a breeze.
8 HOURS yes HOURS later...I now have my base DNN site (v4.4.0).
I went to the KB article and followed those steps and ran into what I came to find was a common error - Not enough disk space. Ok I started my search, dotnetnuke.com, asp.net, the KB, this forum....finally I just went through page by page of the ASP.NET Starter Kits category until I found an answer, although it was slightly vague and no longer trusting I kept reading for a clearer explanation, no luck.
PLEASEDiscountASP.NET Mods - I'm begging you...update theKB on file with the following information:
(insert after D.2-Create a Web Application)
- Log on to your control panel (https://my.discountasp.net)
-Navigate to the User/Quota Manager
-Confirmthe activeusers are: [b], Anonymous ASPNet User, and Anonymous User (IUSR). Allocate a Quota of 200MB each for the ASPNet User and IUSR accounts (by clicking the corresponding "Edit" link). If all users are not set up add user and allocate quoto in the input area provided.
This allocation had me at a stand still, THEN I was stuck on the fact that when I viewed my permissions in the Permission Manager the IUSR and ASPNet users were not listed.
Ultimately I just crossed my fingers and tried again and it worked.
DiscountASP.NET Mods - if the KB article cannot be updated, then please post a NEW KB article with a script to delete the database table, sp's, views, etc so we can start over w/o having to recreate the entire db.
I hope this helps others. Amazing enough I'm not even upset...happy now that I've got it I can get to playing and customizing my site!!
