Loading Screen

If have created a DB Site. When retrieving from the DB(access) the screen goes white(blank). how do I make it so that the current page that is displayed stays displayed until the next page is downloaded. I have Cable and its not so much of a problem, but when testing on dial up i wonder if its ever going to display. And how can i make a loading screen for when the user visits the site, as on dial up the site takes a while to display as there are graphic in the menu that slow it down. I'm guessing i need to do something a Jscript, but i dont know what. I thank anyone that can help. Im truly stuck.
