Downloads for users (what a concept!!)

I would like to make available one directory, and only one directory, for users to browse and download files from.

No more than was possible with1970's BBS's, well, except I don't them uploading anything.

Is this possible with DASP, now that its the 21st century?

You need to enable directory browsing on that one particular directory you want people to have access to.You may issue our tech support a ticket to do that for you.And yes,DASP does its best to provide thier customers with everything they demand for (21st century and later :-D).

I contacted support to have directory browsing enabled for just my 'Downloads' directory tree.

They said:

"You can do that through the control panel --> Permission Manager." http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/nono.gif

but I long since tried that, and IIS Manager also (which btw allows directory browsing
at the entire site level only...a huge on-off switch if you will). http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/sad.gif

I replied back these things, since maybe its not always clear to communicate what I am trying to do. http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/blush.gif

Certainly I will post back here with the final results for anyone else that wants to share a
sub directory tree to the world for downloading. http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/smile.gif

we should be able to change directory browsing for a particular directory. I think support probably misunderstood your request.


Try resubmit the ticket and reference this posting.
