I opened a support ticket, but thought I'd ask here as well. Does SmarterMail have filtering that goes on before it hits my own SPAM settings? Reason I ask is that before I migrated, I used to get tons of SPAM. After migrating I get hardly any. Even though I have my SPAM filtering set up to just add text to the beginning of the subject. I'd think I would now get the same amount of SPAM, just tagged in the subject as such. Also, I have a few cases where I know that legitimate mail hasn't gotten to my mailbox at all, tagged as SPAM or otherwise. If it is doing filtering, is there some way to get to those messages? This is pretty badif can't even get to an e-mail I want to see just because some software algorithm decided it wasn't worth my time...
We use Greylisting. See this knowledge base article: http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10510
You can disable Greylisting for your email address if you want to, but it is not recommended.

It may not be advisable to disable greylisting, but it may be NECESSARY if it kills e-mail from large e-mail providers like Yahoo. You guys have alot of small businesses running sites on here and I'm almost certain they'd want to get e-mail from Yahoo users. Lets face it, if a small business is hosting here it's because they don't have alot of resources, which means their customers likely aren't made of money either and will probably use services like Yahoo for e-mail.
The main problem is that greylisting really gives a worst-case scenario when it comes to undelivered mail because neither the sender or receiver knows it wasn't sent. So now you have someone that sent their e-mail to customer service and gets pissed because they never received a response, and a small business owner who's completely perplexed as to why some guy is calling screaming about not getting a response to an e-mail he never saw!
We understand the ramifications of this issue and will be looking into the Yahoo issue. However, please note that the entire email industry is moving toward Greylisting because of its high effectiveness in reducing spam. Please also file a complaintwith Yahoo too.

Greylist simply delay email delivery. I have not heard any other users complaining about not getting email from Yahoo. I know, for sure, that we get tons of email from yahoo.
