It is irritating to wait forever to click on new messages, open an email, add files and everything else. It looks nicebut performance is just terrible.

The performance on the webmail system should be very quick. We have not received any complaints from other users related to webmail speed issue.
I think the latency is caused by a network latency. I recommend you try a traceroute to webmail.yourdomain.com to see if there's any latency.
