How do you know?

  1. I'm starting from scratch with a church website. I'm not a web developer, but am not technologically illiterate (well, I don't think so, anyway). I'm looking to understand the 'big pieces' of tools I'll need to edit and update the site. I'd appreciate any suggestions or steers.

    Thanks,
    John

  2. ..I did some investigating, and it turns out that there's an application called DotNetNuke installed on the site. I don't know if there is a fat client that needs to be installed locally, or if it can be controlled on the site.

  3. I've created lots of Christian ministry sites, none of them with anything like DotNetNuke but you could.
Do you need a lot of resources on the site or something simple?
As an example, I modified one of the starter kits for this Christian camping site, free: http://camptn.net

Something like that doesn't take long, and hosting it with DASP was easy for them.

Let me know what you need and I'll try to help.
    God's blessings,
    Mark

  4. The existing site that I've inherited is not extensive, nor are there immediate plans to do that. Our new pastor wants to grow the site, so whatever we continue should be extendable. I'm not wedded to using dotnetnuke... as a matter of fact, I'd like to find something a bit easier to work with initially. When you said that you modified a starter kit, I'm not sure I know what you mean.

    Thanks,
    John

  5. The ASP.NET Starter Kits are provided to jump start ASP.NET sites.

Mostof them are easy to setup, some require a developer's help.
    Salute,
    Mark
