Community Starter Kit 1.1 - Configuration needed to use SubDomains

Discussion in 'ASP.NET Starter Kits' started by rcleary171, Jan 20, 2008.

  1. Problem fixed!

Under ISPAdmin, the Domain and SubDomain fields were not filled in correctly. Once I entered:

    Domain: fanwoodpress.com

    SubDomain: interwar

my url: interwar.fanwoodpress.com\community resolved correctly to the correct community.

  2. I have not been able to get the SubDomain feature to work with my CSK 1.1. My domain name is registered externally (with Yahoo) and I have set it (fanwoodpress.com and www.fanwoodpress.com) to point to my IP address.

But, when I attempt to run with a subdomain (i.e., interwar.fanwoodpress.com) the interwar segment is ignored. I have checked the DNS on DiscountASP.net and they appear to be in sync with what I have setup in Yahoo.

I suspect this is an issue with the starter kit and not the extended service with DiscountASP.net.

If anyone has a suggestion or a link, please share it with me.

    Thanks,
    Bob
