Last week we sent an email notifying you of upcoming scheduled network maintenance. This is a reminder that the maintenance will take place tonight;Wednesday, February 13, 2008, between11:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Pacific time. The outage should not last more than 30 minutes.
The down time is necessary to perform the reconfiguration required to add a second internet backbone connection to the network. We will also be taking advantage of the outage to perform additional minor maintenance and upgrades that would have normally caused their own brief outages.
The additional backbone connection will provide us with both redundancy and an alternate path to our network. We are unsure at this point whether there will be any temporary glitches following the activation of the new connection due to routing issues, but we do not anticipate any problems. Any routing issues that do crop up should disappear very quickly.
