How do I keep my local IP address from changing? I have to keep updating the white list with the new IP in order for a backup to run through API.
Thanks!

A few things can affect this, (Provider, Router, etc.), however the basic action is to change your TCP/IP from Auto.
You can assign both static IP addresses and DNS servers, like http://www.opendns.com/

One thing I forgot to mention was Comcast is my provider and using http://www.opendns.com/improved my connections.
Both from Visual Studio to DASP servers and SQL Server local to remote DASP SQL Servers.
I did a trace route with the default Comcast settings from my router and couldn't believe the path it was taking.http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/wink.gif

I don't think it's the IP of your computer is changing but rather your DSL or Cable's DHCP is renewing. This usually happens when you reboot the route or the connection is somehow lost.
I have the same problem at home.
Most DSL / Cable router should have an option to keep the connection even at idle time.
If you still have problem, your ISP is probably forcing the renewal on a regular interval. There isn't much you can do about this unless you want to pay extra to havea static IP.
