Hey, guys -

Ever hear of PyOpenGL, a Python binding for GL? I never had, but I just discovered today that the 'author' has ripped of my GLE32 library and documentation. He has a site at SourceForge - http://pyopengl.sourceforge.net (http://pyopengl.sourceforge.net/). It's totally brazen - even the original author of the GLE library says on the front page of his site that I'm the author of the GLE32 adaptation (although his link is dead). (It's lived on my site since 2000, although the current incarnation doesn't even include the stuff in question.) So if you download the compiled binary (he doesn't distribute source code - I wonder why, huh?), it has a license file where he says 'virtually all the code was written by Linas Vepstas'. Compare that to the information on http://brightideassoftware.com/licenseinfo.aspx. The guy totally glosses over the chain of copyright/authorship; my guess is that the license terms didn't suit him.

I filed a formal DCMA with SourceForge; I wonder how long it'll take them to respond?

Thanks for keeping us posted on these things bro.

Was that the same engine Randy Pausch's kids were using for Alice?
Salute,
Mark

Well, I take it back. It looks as if most of the documentation is Linas' stuff repackaged. I guess I better let SourceForge know...
