How to get the word out?

I think my site (www.knowitallsports.com (http://www.knowitallsports.com)) would be of interest to many people.

But how do I "get the word out" about it? Is it "kosher" to post to sports team discussion forums, telling them about it, or is this considered trolling/spamming/etc.?

If you are going touse forums, then Iwouldn't go into a forum and just post "go to my site". It is better to go into a forum and answer forum users questions and be helpful in the forum but use a sig file that contains your url and information about what your site is about.
