  1. Could discountasp.net help with any the following security issues?

    Lock-down your Administration site
Require a Windows Authenticated login for your loginaddress folder. You can request this via your hosting company.

Add a P3P Privacy Policy & Compact Privacy Policy
Your sites' cookie can be blocked if your site doesn't have a P3P Privacy Policy. See this blog for more information.

    Enable HTTP Compression
Optimize your bandwidth by GZipping static and dynamic content. See this blog for more information.

What do you mean by this? Do you want to password protect a directory??

Yes. I want to protect the name of the login folderto our ecommerce application. One method is to simply change the name of the folder and the other is to change the name of the folder and apply Windows Authenticated login. There is a reason we don't simply randomly change the folder's name.

If I apply a username and password through the Permission Manager of discountasp.net,I'm concerned it would lock the Web site up because the folders are all set to anonymous.

I'd like to know how to apply a login scheme to the web page address to the backend of our site where again a login is required.

The P3P actually is a service if I read that correctly and I have to buy a certificate or some how validate the site so it can be viewed no matter the restrictions of the browsers security. That there is more than one protocol and that an http header can be applied is likely the path I will choose.

I was convinced that the HTTP compression was going to be the best part of my (newbie) question. And it is.

I expect you'll be kind to ask the questions again and I'll do my best to answer.

However, I think it fair to post the address to the forum from which the questions were taken.

You can password protect the folder using the permission manager in the hosting control panel.

based on what I understand, all this need is to add a http header. Yes. we can add this for you.
