Yes. All you need to do is to setup a A record to point somesiteY.mydomain.com to the assigned IP address.

Hi all,

Is it possible to host just one site in a domain I own with DASP, while keeping all other machines and sites somewhere else?
e.g. I own mydomain.com, I run my own dns servers, and run many machines in mydomain.com: somehost1.mydomain.com, somehost1.mydomain.com, mail.mydomain.com, somesiteX.mydomain.com etc.
Now I would like to host somesiteY.mydomain.com at DASP. Is this possible at DASP? How do I have to configure my DNS?

I will give this a try. Does this mean that every site hosted at DASP gets its own IP adress, and that this adress is fixed?

So far no luck


when I access http://www.myDASPDNSHostedDomain.com/somepage.asp everything is ok. However, when after updating as instructed my own dns serves to point discountasptest.mydomain.com to the ip of www.myDASPDNSHostedDomain.com (http://www.myDASPDNSHostedDomain.com), I get a 404 on http://discountasptest.mydomain.com/somepage.asp . I also get a 404 when i directly try to access the resource through the IP.


Are you sure this should be possible?


I need this to work before I can start hosting more websites at DASP.

For this to work, you will need a unique IP, which you can order in the Addons page of your DiscountASP control panel. Then you can point any subdomain or domain to that IP and it should pull up the contents of your site.

I added the "Unlimited Subdomain" option which "Includes Unique IP", and it now works.
