Surface Area Configuration (SAC) tool will be removed in SQL 2008 release. This tool exposed two major functionalities. </o:p>
Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections</o:p>
Surface Area Configuration for Features</o:p>
</o:p>
A. In SQL 2008, starting CTP5 release, the functionality of Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connections can now be performed using SQL CM.</o:p>Note: If you have SQL Server 2008 installed and running with other version instances the new 2008 CM will show them.
Nice thing is, if you make a mistake when you install SQL Server 2008 you can change the "Log on as" in the new CM.
It will also list all of your services, named pipes, protocols, Agents and IDs plus if they start Automatically or Manually.
Love it. http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/yeah.gif
