Why would I not be able to connect to my site using Microsoft IIS 7 Manager. I get 'Unauthorized' error at the provide credentials screen.

PS: I followed steps described at http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10575. What am I missing?

Thank you.

Once we get the updated version of RichMessageBoard I'll finish my Webcast on that:

Right now I'm working to get another SQL Express to DASP SQL Account webcast on-line.

All suggestions welcome. http://community.discountasp.net/emoticons/wink.gif

We received the message in iis7 remote manager ( data base manager feature ). We want to use this tool to manage our site. We found that all works pretty well, except the data base manager feature.

We followed the instructions in http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10575 and this webcast http://iis7test.com/iis7_modules/Default.aspx

Our application run pretty well, and we don't have sql server management studio 2008. ( we don't have 2005 version, it is not posible connect to a sql server 2008 with this version!)

I attached the message!

Hi,
I just checked on the DiscountASP.NET IIS7test server, the IIS7 Manager still cannot connect to SQL Server 2008.
Bruce is awayon a trip right now but he had told me the crew is aware of this and are working on it.

Hi,
I do my best to help everyone here but I'm not a part of the DiscountASP.NET team so I don't know but hopefully soon.

Where are you seeing that error message? In the browser with your web application connecting to the database or are you seeing it in SQL Server Management Studio?

Good afternoon

Maybe you could help us with this issue.

We followed your instructions to connect our iis7 manager to our www.ofacseek.com/ofacseek.com site. It looks pretty well. Our issue is with the Database manager. we receive the message:

'There was an error while performing this operation. Details: failed to connect to server'. When we try to admin our sql server 2008 database.

Our application run pretty well. And we are using the same string connection in our web application , and in the iis7 database manager.

In fact, it is the string connection suggested by discountasp.net in the panel control.

We have our pc with windows vista home premiun sp1, we have installed sql server 2005 developed edition and visual studio 2005. Actually we can connect to our database using vs2005 we the same string connection!.

Thanks for your help!
