Beginner need help

hi,

i'm totally new to web hosting, so pls excuse me for my ignorance. I'm trying to upload to my site, however i did not come across any upload tool within discountASp.net. Does it mean that i can only upload(publish) using Visual studio or am i missing something here.

Next i saw someone talking about FTp. So i wonder if there's any ftp tools or is there software that i may need to use to do this.

Hi,
Which Operating System are you using? i.e. XP Pro, Vista Home, etc.
You more than likely have basic FTP capabilites on your system right now.
You can also download Visual Web Developer 2008 for free at www.asp.net (http://www.asp.net)
If you use your favorite search engine you can also find many free FTP clients, like the FireFTP for Firefox, which even works good with IIS7.

I'm currently using Win Xp. So i guess i should be able to google on FTP using XP. So does it mean that i can only upload web pages using FTP and authoring tools such as visual studio and if so, if my web page is e.g. http://www.qwe123.com , does it mean that the ftp is ftp://www.qwe123.com?

Hi,
Look in the info provied for your account, via your Control Panel login.
Should be: ftp.qwe123.com

You can also use the TEMP FTP address DASP provided, at all times.
