1. I’m looking for a new host for my existing web site. On August 2008, I released a social networking web site on a shared host. Currently, I’m noticing major performance issues (slow load times, response timeouts, etc). The web site is actually a ASP.NET AJAX 3.5 web application using compiled assemblies (a class library framework I developed myself), and a SQL Server 2005 back-end. Under a subdomain, I am also hosting a mobile web application. My framework is very lean and I am making little use of postbacks. I have roughly 20,000 users and I average about 1200 GB monthly bandwidth (my users are able to post images, videos files under 10 MB, and audio files under 5 MB).

I have two questions:

1. Could Discount ASP host my web site without taking a major hit in performance? Or should I consider straying away from shared hosting and look towards purchasing a dedicated server?
2. Does Discount ASP allow Data Caching?

Honestly, from the current site usage stats that you state and asuming you are still growing in membership, you should go with a dedicated hosting solution.
