FTP access is denied

I've published a site from VS 2008 via FTP and now need to make changes to it. I keep getting an access denied (550) error. I am not using Front Page so to KB articles don't help. From what I can see I need to somehow do an IISRESET but obviously can't. Does anyone have any ideas?

I need help ASAP as this is holding up my business!!!!

Can you give us a full copy of the FTP log? Also what platform is your account on? Is it on IIS 6 or IIS 7?

try stop your site in the control panel and issue a application recycle.
