2nd Attempt. Maybe sharing more information about this will help me get an answer. I?m slowly building a web site hosted through DASP. I use FP2000 to administer the site, and I?ve set up a Forum (SNITZ) that uses the MySQL database to store and manage forum-related information. So far, everything is working as expected, and I?m quite pleased. Nonetheless, I?ve started thinking about a plan to back up the data stored in the MySQL database. I never really gave this all that much thought until now since accessing the data and manipulating the related tables to the extent that I needed seemed at least somewhat intuitive through the MySQL Control Center. After all, the tables are right there in the window on the left hand side of the MySQL CC screen. So, imagine my surprise when I can?t figure out a way to back up the database tables. Ha!
I can?t seem to find a save control on the MySQL CC that will allow me to save the tables to my PC?s hard drive. Am I missing something? What is the backup strategy that is eluding me? As I mentioned before, I?m really impressed with DASP, but not being able to easily retrieve the database tables is a commitment I?ve got to question?.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
