How to set up DNS or URL Forwarding

Hi,

I have a domain name registered with 1and1.com. How do I change the settings in the 1and1 site so that the domain name points to DASP hosted website?

I have attached a screen shot of the 1and1 web page with the entries I think I should make.

However I don't want the website to be unavailable to 24/48 hours.

Could you tell me if I am right?

I found the knowledge base articles... http://support.discountasp.net/KB/c72/domain-name-server-update-instructions.aspx but was not sure if this was the same thing.

If not is there anything I need to do on the DASP side?

It appears to be correct. Although on the secondary name servers you do have ns3.discountasp.net inputted twice. The second secondary name server should be ns2.discountasp.net although I doubt it will make a difference for your part. The secondary name servers are for redundant purposes. If the primary name server go down 'ns1.discountasp.net' it will go to the 1st secondary name server which is ns3.discountasp.net. If the 1st secondary name server goes down, it will go to the 2nd secondary name server which should be ns2.discountasp.net. As you can see it is setup for redundancy.
