Team,
I have a domain I registered with register.com. It is active as a domain pointer to a parent account. The register.com domain NS records are pointed to the discountasp name servers. I'd like to point the MX records to an internal corporate exchange server.
I've gone around in circles with support via email. The end thread with them is something like this:
My domain is registered with register.com. I cannot manage my DNS through discountasp.net because I did not register this domain with discountasp.net ... and discountasp.net does not support domain transfers. You recommended I transfer the domain to GoDaddy, but then recommend I point the name servers to discountasp.net. By pointing the NS records to discountasp.net, that gives discountasp.net, the DNS authority ... but since domain manager support is only for domains registered through discountasp.net, there is not support. Something is amiss.
Again, I find it hard to believe, given the vast businesses you support, this has not come up before.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Richard.
