Hello, I'm new to discountasp.net... I am setup on 2008/IIS7 server. I am using latest version of FileZilla for FTP over SSL. I followed the client setup steps from the discountasp.net KB. I can successfully connect, and login, then when if tries to run LIST to open the data connection if times out, fails to get the directory listing. Here is a copy/past of the end of the session: Command: LIST Response: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection. Error: Connection timed out Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing any ideas?
issue is my nat/router/firewall device... I know how to fix but I need the port range discountasp.net has defined for the ftps data connections back to the client. Why is this not listed under the FTP information in my.discountasp.net? Anyone know the port range?
thank you for that info. Now if only my Westell versalink 7500 was not the biggest piece of junk I have ever come across, I could actually use FTPS. I'll probably have to just use FTP unfortunately. As far as I'm concerned based on the experience I have just had with this router, someone needs to get fired at Westell, and for the rest of my life, I will never use anything Westell, personally or professionally, and I will make a sincere effort to spread the word about how bad they are.
Ha - well, message received! Routers used to be pretty specialized home hardware, but the more common they have become, the crappier they have become, unfortunately.
