Other Authoring Tools... (which Web page editor?)

Discussion in 'Getting started' started by Owen Ransen, Apr 17, 2014.

  1. I have a question which I can't post in one of the Other Authoring Tools forum because my question is which tool to use...

I'll use VS2010 to create the program part of my site in C#.

Presumably nobody uses VS2010 to create the non programmed pages of their site, so what do you use as a Web page editor?

I could carry on with my ancient DreamWeaver 3 (result: http://www.ransen.com) , but I'd be interested in opinions.

i would stick w/ VS.NET even with your html pages. VS.NET has a pretty good HTML editor.

  3. Hmm, I find it a bit restricting, VS2010 is not really a WEB page editor...

I don't think it was meant to be. It's more of an IDE to me. If you want something to design your "presentation" layer, try Microsoft Expression Web. It's a pretty good HTML/CSS editor.
