  1. Right now I am getting a bunch of SQL timeouts. What is going on?

Someone's bad query on sql2k1201 caused resource problems. We'll keep an eye on it.

  3. Once again sql2k1201 is having issues. Does that user have an errant query again? Frustrating to be at the mercy of someone else.

Yes, it's the same issue. A DBA is on it and I'm pretty sure he'll be shutting down or limiting the database that's causing the problem.

I know it's frustrating, but it's a drawback of shared servers. On the web servers we can isolate application pools to prevent this kind of thing, but that can't be done on the SQL servers.

I'm not trying to upsell you or anything, but on Everleap we do have Managed SQL service, which is essentially your own SQL server. No "bad neighbor" problems with that.
