I have a Web Matrix application in production under ASP.NET 1.1 I want to easily convert this application to run under Visual Web Developer and ASP.NET 2.0 on the DiscountASP.net hosting website. I can run the application under VWD, ASP.NET 2.0on my PC with no changes. VWD is really great and has a lot of new features I would like to use. My question is: has anyone tried running Web Matrix under ASP.NET 2.0 on the DiscountASP.net hosting web site? If I can run my WM application under ASP.NET 2.0, I can keep it in production and gradually change the applicationto VWD one page at a time. The two products: WM and VWD seem to be perfectly compatible. The knowledge base has an entry that says to run under ASP.NET 2.0 just use the IIS manager on the control panel to make the switch. I am a little leary of just switching without some feedback that this would be a good approach.
We tested a lot of asp.net 1.1 application on 2.0 framework. Most works fine. Unless you are using something not very common, asp.net 1.1 app should run fine no asp.net 2.0. Bruce DiscountASP.NET www.DiscountASP.NET
