meta name description
<meta http-equiv="description" content="entered description" />
I have tried various ways to get this to work including coping fields from sites that work. Would someone Google Dautya.com in Explorer and View the source to determine what I am doing wrong? |

Everything looks correct:
<meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" /> |

More tries
<meta name="description" content=" whatever " /> still does not post on Google.

Are you trying to use metadata to put a preview in the Google search results?
If so, that's way more involved than using a meta tag. You might want to start here. |

Thanks for the focus info.
Looks promising, I will give Rich Snippets a try. Jeffery |

Google an others take weeks or months
From browsing Google Webmaster I found that Google takes weeks or months to update these fields for less popular sites.
Google claims there are now too many servers to do this faster. I am skeptical that thsi is the true reason. Do you want to close this thread or wait for futher acticity? |
