  1. Hi guys,

Maybe someone can tell me if what I'm doing is correct. I already own the domain bar.com, and I want to create a new subdomain foo.bar.com to resolve to an external IP. So I went into the DNS manager and added a new A entry for bar, pointing to the external IP.

If I ping foo.bar.com then it doesn't find the host, but I'm guessing that I just need to wait a while for the new host entry to propogate?

I don't have the Unlimited Subdomains option on my account, but it doesn't look like that is necessary for what I'm trying to do.

    Is my understanding correct here?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  2. You should be fine.

It regularly takes up to 30-45 minutes for it to work, but it should work and be pingable after that.

If it doesn't work, make sure your name servers are pointed to DASP, otherwise you'll have to make these changes wherever your DNS is pointed to.
