Salutations, I'm working on a series of "how to" videos for Discountasp.net customer support. Have been using Camtasia Studio for several years but just upgraded to version 5, for Vista compatibility. The videos will be hosted on a DASP Windows Server 2008 server. The first video is on-line now. . . Basic video on how to add DB Server connections in SQL Server: [STRIKE]http://iis7testcom.web701.discountasp.net/connecting/connecting.html[/STRIKE] http://www.dasptv.com/ Yes it's far from perfect. Uses call-outs for anything I thought might be helpful. The speed I progressed at could be slower, I know, but I tried tominimizethe file size as much as possible. People viewing the videos can however pause and continue as needed while watching. I'd very much appreciate your feedback. Suggestions about the video format, presentation, etc. Subjects you would like to see covered in future videos. Is a download important? (Windows Media format.) Currently I'm only using call-outs, no sound...Is sound important? Anything you would like to mention, please do. Thanks, Mark
Update: The DiscountASP.NET Videos portal: http://iis7test.com/webcasts/ That will be the central location for all videos. Additional notes, as needed, will be on each resulting page. Salute, Mark
Still confused I watched your video but noticed that you were working with 2005 which doesn't help since I have just signed up and was pushed into 2008. Take into account I didn't know I had to sign off my account to get to the database. Just wondering if there are any tutorials out there that can help those of us who have no knowledge of what we are embarking on but know we need to use these tools? can't catch up if we can't get started!! Don
Hi, I've been out of commission but will be back creating Webcasts this week. SQL Sever 2008 videos will be on the list, even basic ones, just post what you'd like to see. All the best, Mark
Hi, All Webcasts are currently being migrated to http://www.dasptv.com/ If you have any trouble watching them there let us know. All the best, Mark
Salutations, Haven't updated this thread in a while but it deserves a little note. . . If you watched that most recent webcast where I covered the Control Panel Database tool suite you either saw the first encoding where the end was a black screen or the one where the text in most of the webcast was blurred. (It takes a few hours to encode and upload the Smooth Streaming files otherwise I'd experiment more with different themes and methods.) This latest webcast was done with Expression Encoder v4 and there are more than a few snafus in it right now, so I just redid the webcast with v3 and it's now on dasptv.com Nobody reported the black screen or blurred text to me or I would have gotten to this sooner. Hint hint. ;-) I've got some experimenting to do with encoder v4 and I'm still waiting to see how the licensing is going to work out as v4 does not allow for many of the things I've done in v3 unless you purchase the Pro version, which is not out yet and which is not included with the Ultimate version of Expression Studio v4 on MSDN. It's all very confusing. Just thought I'd let everyone know what's up. All the best, Mark
