Just started noticing this problem. Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. Is Discount ASP.net a Web Farm or a cluster? This will happen if my web site sits for say 20 minutes or more and then you click on something. I've found information on this related to asp.net 2.0 but my server is asp.net 3.5. You would think they would have this problem figured out by now. Not sure what to do. I searched the forums and there were links about correcting the problem but the links were broken.
I'll recommend that you view the following forum post, where it specifically tackles your issue: http://community.discountasp.net/showthread.php?t=2719&highlight=Validation+viewstate+MAC+failed
After much digging, I found this web page that generates a random machine key. http://www.developmentnow.com/articles/machinekey_generator.aspx And your post shows where to put it in your web.config file. That fixed the problem. Thanks!
