My question is: I have to end a hosting account but I need to retain the domain name which is registered though discountASP. I need to know the procedure to do this. I have not found the answer in the KB. I don't visit support often, and I have wasted a hour navigating submitting ticket, reset password, and slow response on email returns. There is no way for a telephone contact. I need this information ASAP, and I would have received it already from GoDaddy. What is the procedure to cancel an account AND retain the domain name that is registered though DiscountASP? Frustrated and annoyed.
When you cancel the account the domain management information will be sent to you. It's part of the cancellation process. With that information you can log in to the OpenSRS interface and update the name servers and get the auth code and transfer the domain to another registrar.
There is a cancellation request form in the control panel. Check the bottom left hand navigation menu.
