Prompt for username and password

I was wondering how I can password lock a directory similar to using htaccess. There are directories that I don't want users to be able to access without a username and password.

What can I do about this?

 

Yes, there are ways to prevent people from accessing folders/directories. We have some KBs that explain how to do this here:

IIS6 accounts:

I have done this, and it does not work. Anyone can still access the directory. There is no prompt for entering username and password. You can just access it like any other page or directory.
