Hi I am starting an intensive self learning project, in order to become fluent in Drupal (currently v7) . My understanding is that it uses a LAMP stack. Do the installations of Drupal on Discountasp, sit on a LAMP stack, or on some type of emulator? I am asking because I want to learn this technology within the environment I am most likely to find, once I start seeking out contracts. Thanks Gord
The L in LAMP stands for Linux (the O/S), and the A is for Apache (the web server), so no, not the same thing here. No emulators are involved anywhere though. Drupal runs on Windows (the O/S) and IIS (the web server) just fine.
Drupal does NOT need a LAMP (or WAMP) stack to work properly under Windows, and I suspect it work fine on DiscountASP.net. It DOES need PHP (which is working fine here) AND a DB (again working fine here). See: http://www.microsoft.com/web/drupal Best, -Matt
