FTP error - Access denied when trying to delete

Discussion in 'General troubleshooting' started by shirzadi, Mar 17, 2004.

  1. Hi!

I can not delete a file once it is uploaded to my site. I use
Dreamweaver to FTP the file to my site. It is a Flash File .swf
and I can not delete or change the file. Any help?

I tried to Install and Uninstall the Front Page extensions but
did not help. My site is becoming a mess but not being able to delete
anything. I also revieve an error when trying to delete folders.
I get the error that the folder is not empty. What should I do?
    Thanks

If you have FrontPage installed, you probably get a lot of hidden directories.

    Is this a subweb?

  3. No it is not a sub web. It's in the root folder

I also get an error that I can not delete a flash file.

I tried to Install - Uninstall Frontpage extensions but still get
    the same error

    Any idea?

Hmm.. the only think i can think of is that frontpage marked the file as read only. I can't really confirm for you.

create a support ticket and ask to check permission
