I developed my site using Visual Web Developer Express, and am considering using Frontpage2003 instead. Will Frontpage recognize .aspx pages or will I have to redesign the site using Frontpage? I like VWD, but want the design features offered by Frontpage2003. It seems like a huge change from FP2002. Does anyone have any cautions about moving to FP2003? Thank you for your help and God Bless, Mark A. Sam
I would advise against this. FrontPage is at its end of life. Microsoft will no longer release any future version of FrontPage. The current beta version of IIS 7.0 do not even support FrontPage extension. The replacement for FrontPage is Expression Studio but its still in beta. We tested it and its still pretty buggy. Thank you Bruce. You saved me a lot of trouble. This is a pretty nice message board.Did DiscountASP develop it?
Can you tell me if Expression is still "buggy" as you mentioned? It's been a while since your post so I wondered Expression has gotten better. I see it is for sale and that Frontpage is out of commission. All of my sites are built with Frontpage so I'm now looking for a new editor. Any suggestions? thanks
Microsoft officially released Expression Web and their Expression Studio. Our hosting platform is compatible with Expression Web - we tested it and published this KB article: http://kb.discountasp.net/article.aspx?id=10459 It performed better than its "beta" days but we only tested the app to make sure it was compatible with our hosting system. It's a new product so we don't have any time-tested insight/tipsyet.You may want to check out the othercommunity forums online to see what people are experiencing and having issues with.
