Hi, I´m trying to connect to my account through IIS manager but i recieve the following error: Could not connect to the specified computer. Details: the remote server returned an error: (502) Bad Gateway What can it be? What can i do? thanks in advanced.
Mmm i don´t have access to this information :S at the office. It can be the problem. I´m gonna try out of the office and i will comment it after that. Thanks Bruce.
Hi Meek. Be sure that you unbloked port 8172 in your pc and the main firewall/proxy at office, home or provider
Try do a simple telnet test on your computer - open command prompt - type telnet web701.discountasp.net 8172 if you get a blank screen, then you have a connection. If not, the port is not opened.
i am getting 401 error...some problem for me tooo..i did the telnet it works fine a blank screen i get
The 401 error usually means that you either did not set your username to have access rights through IIS Manager or you're typing in the wrong user name or password. First go into your hosting control panel and under IIS Tools/IIS Manager make sure the user name you are using has the rights to connect to our server with IIS Manager.
Have done this and i get the blank screen. So the port is open, but when i try and connect using IIS 7 manager no such luck
I have the same issues too (tried the telnet web701.discountasp.net 8172 and works fine), any luck in sorting it yet? or do we all have to log a support ticket?
Just another thing you can try that was affecting me: Check Internet Explorer's Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and see if your running through a proxy server. Mine was set by group policy and when I disabled it and got it looking for a direct connection my Bad Pathway connection issues with IIS Manager went away.
